Been fishing with Capt Ken for about 3-years now, good guide, host and in general all around friend. Now don't get me wrong, he will kid around with you a little bit, but other than that I enjoy myself everytime I am there and certainly never want to leave. Onto the experience, it's not normal for a fisherman to be able to stand in one spot for an hour and catch up to and beyond endless amounts of red's and trout, I have done this on many occasion, one particular time comes to mind on a trip a few years ago with my neighbor and good friend Todd and Capt Ken, Dave and Archie. We had fished for a while all day long and caught most of our trout (before) changing the limit to 5 as now! We stopped south and stood in one spot, I fished with top water, gold and black skitter walk, (got tired of catching 26-28 inch reds) was worn out! Anyway, de'javoue this labor day week end, same time, same channel did it again! Blowed out the trout and reds', I cant write enough about all of my trips, would take up to many gig's cant wait until my next trip.

October 30th and 31st will live in the memories of four close family members David Smith, Aaron Smith, Billy Glass and I as we follwed Capt. Ken into the cold waters of the laguna Madre. Following a cold front the fishing was tough, but we still caught fish even hanging into a rather large trout over 25 inches. We had an absolute blast the first day, but nothing compared to what was to come. Begining the second day we were tossing back anything under 20 before lunch time. We fished the rest of the day until just before sundown when "BAM!" I got the hit you dream about! I hooked into what felt like a monster and the fight was on. for 30 plus minutes I fought this fish with my father in law standing beside me laughing the whole time. A wonderful red (mud sucker) emerged like a whale surrendering himself to me. 35 1/4 inches long this red created a special memory for me and my second trip out with Ken. We all had so much fun and agreed this will be an annual event with Ken a grate guide and new friend! Thanks for the memories Ken, see ya next year! Andy Anderson, Roanoke Tx

Went out with Ken in conditions that were not the best and we still caught a bunch of fish!!! It never fails to amaze me how Ken is able to find the fish even when mother nature throws her best his way. My arms are still sore from catching all those red fish!!! Already looking at dates for our next trip.

Always wanted to fish in this area of the Texas coast. Grew up in the Galveston Bay area and had heard and read so much about the lower Texas Coast. Went fishing with Captain Ken and some friends for two days 8/24 & 8/25 and it was all I could have imagined and then some. The area is a wade fishing paradise. Captain Ken is a great guide and teacher of the sport. His passion for fishing showed up in every aspect of our trip. No doubt his knowledge of where to go and how to catch fish in Laguna Madre is second to none. We are already preparing for the next trip. Can't wait to bend some rods with good friends and Captain Ken again. Jeff Saldua, Friendswood,TX

Went out with Capt. Ken last Monday and Tuesday and had an awesome time. Each day we limited out on trout and alot of reds, not to mention all the small keepers we released. He also put me on my personal best a 29.25 incher. Not only is Capt. Ken a great guide he is also a great teacher. Guideing is not just a job to him, he has a great passion for the sport of wade fishing. He is a serious guide but still knows how to have a good time with his good since of humer. To me that is what its all about, catchin' a lot of fish and having a great time. Hope we can make it an annual trip with my dad and two brothers. Joseph Hardy, Waco TX

All I can say is WOW. Spent two days on/in the water with my family and Capt. Ken leading the way. We caught our limit on trout and reds both days. Ken put us on a bunch of fish! At one point we had three reds on the line at the same time! It was a great time with great people, a great guide, great lodging and great fishing! I highly recommend Capt. Ken!! I can't wait to come back! Kevin S. Katy, TX

Two days fishing with Ken resulted in 2 day limits of reds and big trout ("under 20in? throw'em back"). We would have limited on trout before 10am if we would have kept all legal fish. I especially enjoyed the new additions at the lodge. WW White

I've fished the Texas coast from Galveston to Port Isabel. Ken Griffith is the finest guide on the gulf coast!! When he says dawn to dusk, if you don't have a limit of fish that's exactly what he means!! I've never heard him say in the 15 years i've fished with him are ya'll ready to go in, he's always the first person out of the boat. My group fished the 22nd and 23rd of June. i told ken during the trip that Mansfield was back like it was before the brown tide. It was unbelivable, never been better. If you love to wade fish the only guide to use on the coast is Ken and the only place to fish is Port Mansfield!! Thanks for another great trip, I'll see you in July!

Sorry took so long to post this. Anyhow, me, Scotty, and Jake wanted to thank you for the fantastic time on Memorial Day Weekend. Caught tons of trout and tons of reds. We had trout up to 27 in and none less than 20 in. That calls for a dang good day in my book. Thank you again Ken and you will be seeing us again soon. Thanks, Coleman, Scotty, and Jake not to forget John of course who was the other person that made our trip so great!

I fished with Capt. Ken back on the 18th and 19th of April. I have found my new fishing guide!!!! Port Mansfield is the place to catch trout. We limited out both days. That Sunday on the 19th we had our limits by 11 am. We caught nothing but quality Trout between 20 and 25 inches. Capt. Ken knows where to catch the big ones. He has great accomodations and the hospitality is like no others. It was the best fishing trip I have been on and I have been fishing all my life. I plan to book many more trips in the future. If you want to experience great Port Mansfield fishing, then Capt. Ken is the guide you want. Travis Lewis Texas City, TX

Capt. Ken is an old home town friend of mine. I finally was able to get back down south with some buddies and hook-up with Ken for some fishing and reminiscing about times from our High school days. The wind was really tough, gusting at times to 30+. Ken did not mention one time with excuses why we may not do well due to the poor conditions, instead our group not only had a great time, but caught limits of fish from Ken sharing is expertise on how to find and catch fish in poor conditions. You will not find a guide that will beat Ken's accommodations and professionalism. My only problem with sharing the news about Ken to friends and co-workers, is next time I want to book a trip its already taken. Thanks again Ken for being a friend and a excellent guide.

Fished with Capt. Ken on the 18-19 and happend to be two of the best days of trout fishing in my life! Capt. Ken is a well knowledge guide who is willing to share all he knows and wants you to learn, not a guide trying to hold out and just take your money. I will definately book another trip and highly recommend him if your on the hunt for a trophy trout or just really good trout fishing. James Miranda, Texas City TX.

I have fished with Captain Ken several times and have never been disappointed. The fish don’t come and jump in the boat though. You have to get out in the water with them and you have to hunt them. If you follow Ken you will eventually find them. It is always challenging. That’s what keeps me going back—that, plus the fact that I am taller than Ken, which is not saying much, but I enjoy looking down on him. Sherman Minter, Houston

Capt. Ken provided two days of great fishing. Capt. Ken is the one you are looking for if you want to go "catching" instead of just "fishing" in Port Mansfield. Capt. Ken knows where the fish are by being on the water most every day. Barry Barfield (Houston).

On July 3, 2008 was one of the best fishing experiences i've ever had. I've had many experiences with lots of guides, and Capt. ken Griffith is by far the best. Capt. Ken is not only a tremendous guide, he is a great teacher of the sport. I'm looking forward to another great trip with Capt. Ken Griffith. J.R. Watts

WOW! Fishing with Captain Ken was a great experience. Besides the fact that we had our limit on fish by the end of the day, it was also very educational. The fishing trip was one of those experiences that a person will never forget. Who can beat a day on the water with your best friends, a lot of fish, and a captain with a great personality and tons of experience? NOBODY can. From a truly satisfied customer, Isaac N. Leal
